Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at a later time. Tim leaves to cherish his memory, his three children and their spouses, Gina and Frank Sellers of Vandervoort, Michael and Genita Whitley of De Queen, and Tillmon and Veronica Whitley of Gillham three grandchildren, Alyssa and husband Kaleb, Jeremy and wife Candace, and Ryan one great-grandchild, Bennett two nephews, Stan Whitley and Blake Whitley as well as other relatives, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents his loving wife of almost 56 years, Arlene Whitley and his brother, Tommy Whitley. Tim best spent his time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He enjoyed stamp collecting, genealogy, shooting guns, and reloading bullets. He spent time in Alaska, a short time in De Queen, and retired in the early 2000s as Postmaster in Wilton, Arkansas. Following his time in the service, Tim worked more than twenty years for the United States Postal Service. Tim married the love of his life, Arlene Ladell Overturf, on February 4, 1961, in Biloxi, Mississippi, and to this union, three children were born. He retired from the Air Force on September 30, 1980, after twenty years of faithful service. During this time, Tim spent seven years, one month, and sixteen days overseas.

He was a 1960 graduate of Gillham High School and in September of that year, joined the United States Air Force.

and Mary Oleta Tarpley Whitley on May 24, 1942, in Mineral, Arkansas. “Tim”, as he was known to family and friends, was born the oldest of two sons of Tillmon Timothy Whitley, Sr. Tillmon Timothy Whitley, Jr., age 80, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, in De Queen.
